Gombe state independent electeral commission fixed date of local government election across the state..

About nineteen different political parties have declared interest to fully participate in the forthcoming local government elections in Gombe State. The Chairman Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission GOSIEC, Saidu Shehu Awak, disclosed this while briefing the newsmen on the preparation so far made by the Commission. The Chairman said the Commission has scheduled April 27.2024. for the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections in the eleven local government areas that cut across one hundred and fourteen wards in the state. Saidu Shehu Awak confirmed that about nineteen different political parties in the state have already declared their interest to fully participate in the elections. He explained that the Commission provides interested political parties with one hundred and one day's notice to prepare and present their candidates for chairmanship and Councillorship seats across the State. While urging the leadership of political parties that intend to contest this election to encourage their members and supporters to be respectful in their conduct of relationships with fellow players in politics, the Chairman called on all political parties to ensure that they conduct their primaries within the timeframe that will be given to them.

Stakeholders in Jambutu ward in Yola North Local government of Adamawa state have been urged to unite and work together for peace and development of the ward and the State. This call was made by the New Chairman of Police Community Relation Committee PCRC Jamubtu ward, Adamu Jingi shortly after he was appointed. Adamu Jingi called for synergy between all stakeholders and to support security agencies for the development of the ward and the entire State. Adamu also advised politician to engage the youth through skills acquisition training which will help them to become self reliance. While calling on the youth to be productive always, the newly appointed chairman also called on them to always seek jobs as their dignity in the society depended on how they contribute to the growth and development of the communities they came from.
