Parents Applauds Gov Kefas of Taraba state

The provision of free education by the Taraba State government has been praised by the parents of beneficiaries. They expressed their admiration during an interview with our correspondent in Jalingo on Friday, January 26, 2024. .
Malam Kasimu Garba, Agnes Andrew, Isa Jauro, and Innocent Apollos, among other parents, described the initiative as a valuable opportunity for children from financially disadvantaged families to benefit from democracy's dividend. They said with the current economic hardships facing Nigerians, many parents are unable to afford education for their children due to financial constraints. Consequently, some have taken their children out of school but now many parents have sent their children back to school as a result of the development and thanked the Governor for the gesture.
They added that the commendation became necessary as the Kefas-led administration's gesture was a first of its kind in the state's history. The parents urged all Tarabans to continue praying for Governor Agbu's success in his Moving Forward Agenda to transform the state. Additionally, Malam Kasimu Garba, Agnes Andrew, Isa Jauro, and Innocent Apollos commended the Acting Chairperson of the Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board, Mrs. Rabi Sunday, for her resilience and commitment towards actualizing Governor Kefas's transformation agenda in the education sector.
They referred to Mrs. Sunday as a woman of principles, integrity, and honesty, who is transparent and God-fearing in managing the board. According to the parents, recently, they witnessed the distribution of learning materials to various schools under the board across the 16 LGAs of the State.
Recall that last week, the TSUB distributed some items, including learning materials worth millions of naira, to various schools across the state. Sahel Reporters also gathered that on November 14, 2023, Mrs. Rabi Sunday, along with top management staff of the Board, received a delegation from UBEC and showed them around Tsangaya schools in the state. . The visit aimed to review some past activities of Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA), a World Bank Intervention Program, which Taraba State is one of the benefitting states.
Our correspondent, who was part of the team that visited various Tsangaya schools, reported that during the tour, the leader of the delegation expressed delight and satisfaction with what they had seen in terms of productivity and the utilization of the learning materials provided to them. Finally, they also congratulated Governor Agbu Kefas on his triumph at the Supreme Court.
