Northeast Cooperatives Stakeholders Forum Inaugurates Adamawa State Chapter

The Northeast Cooperatives Stakeholders Forum has officially inaugurated its Adamawa State chapter, with a ceremony held recently in Yola. Barrister Abdullahi Jalo, the Forum's President, led the inauguration and took the opportunity to praise Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his administration's developmental strides across the state.
Jalo highlighted the "tremendous development" Adamawa State has experienced under Governor Fintiri's leadership, acknowledging the significant progress made in infrastructure and economic growth. He also commended the cooperative societies in Adamawa for their unity and efforts to drive progress in trade and business, emphasizing the achievements reached so far.
Speaking at the event, Suleiman Samuel Olalekan, Branch Manager of United Bank for Africa (UBA), pledged the bank's support for the cooperative movement, reinforcing its commitment to aid in the development of Adamawa State. He urged cooperative members to open accounts with UBA, which would facilitate smoother financial transactions and access to credit.
Hajiya Zainab Bode, Director of Cooperatives in Adamawa State, noted the challenges faced by the cooperative movement in the Northeast, calling for renewed efforts to revitalize it. She welcomed the visit by Barrister Jalo as a positive step toward reawakening the sector.
In his address, the newly appointed President of the Northeast Stakeholders Forum, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmad, expressed his gratitude to Barrister Jalo for the inauguration and praised Governor Fintiri for his continued support of cooperative societies in the state. He urged the governor to maintain and expand these efforts to further drive development.
The event also featured the presentation of federal government-allocated items to Adamawa State, further highlighting the ongoing efforts to bolster cooperative initiatives in the region.
