Private schools across Adamawa State have been called upon to consider reducing their school fees to enable children from less-privileged backgrounds to access quality education. The call was made by the Acting Executive Secretary of the Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB), Mr. Birsan Penuel, during the 15th Anniversary Graduation Ceremony, Speech and Prize-Giving Day of Universal Wisdom Academy, held in Yola Town.





Mr. Penuel, who was the Chairman of the occasion, described education not just as a commercial venture but a noble contribution to national development. He commended the management of Universal Wisdom Academy for the invitation, noting that being part of the event was both an honor and a privilege.


While addressing the gathering, the PPSMB boss expressed deep appreciation to the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school, describing them as the “unsung heroes” behind every student’s succes





“Your patience, mentorship, and sacrifices are the pillars upon which the achievements of this institution rest. May your labor never go unrewarded,” he stated.


He also thanked the parents for their trust and active involvement in their children’s academic journey, stressing that education is a shared responsibility between the government, schools, and families.


Mr. Penuel further acknowledged the transformational leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, praising his administration’s investment in educational infrastructure, teacher training, digital learning, and comprehensive reforms aimed at raising standards in the sector.


In his address, the Principal of Universal Wisdom Academy, Mallam Umaru Ali, congratulated all prize winners, noting that their hard work and determination earned them well-deserved recognition.




The Proprietor of the Academy, Alhaji Muhammad Buba Bindir, expressed gratitude to all who attended the event. He disclosed that since its establishment in 2010, the school has grown to over 400 students, with 40% being orphans and 30% internally displaced persons (IDPs).


Alhaji Bindir lauded Mr. Penuel for his continued support in promoting education across secondary schools in the state. He also appreciated parents for their steadfast support and encouraged them to continue contributing toward the growth of the school.


He concluded by commending the entire staff of Universal Wisdom Academy for their dedication and commitment to the development of education in society.
