Usman Bin Fodio Academy Yola Holds Speech and Prize-Giving Day for Pupils

Usman Bin Fodio Academy in Yola brought together pupils, educators, and community stakeholders on Saturday for a special Speech and Prize-Giving Day, aimed at promoting academic excellence, moral values, and the importance of child upbringing in today’s society.
The event, held at the school premises, featured a series of speeches, goodwill messages, and award presentations that highlighted the school's commitment to holistic education and character development.
In his opening remarks, Professor Bello Idi, who delivered the welcome address, commended the school’s leadership and staff for their tireless efforts in raising a generation of morally upright and intellectually sound children.
Chairman of the occasion, Ustaz Abubakar Hamma Adama, emphasized the critical role of families, schools, and religious institutions in instilling values in young minds. He urged parents to take active roles in guiding their children, particularly in a time of rising social challenges.
In a thought-provoking paper presentation by the Special Guest of Honour, Ustaz Ibrahim Muhammad Damare, titled “The Role of Proper Child Upbringing.” he stressed the need for early moral education, discipline, and the integration of Islamic and cultural principles in a child's development.
In a vote of thanks, Usman Ahmad Dada, Amir of the Center for Islamic Thought (CIT) Yola, who expressed gratitude to all guests, parents, and partners for their support and participation, acknowledged the dedication of teachers and the enthusiasm of pupils who made the event a success.
Highlights of the event included presentation of debates by students, distribution of prizes and awards to outstanding pupils, and various goodwill messages from community leaders and educators.
The event concluded with prayers for continued growth and success of the academy, as well as a renewed call for collective efforts in nurturing the next generation of responsible citizens.
