Parents and Teachers Urged to Partner for Educational Advancement on World Education Day

In commemoration of World Education Day, the Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Post Primary Schools Management Board Mr. Birsan Penuel, has issued a strong appeal for collaboration among all stakeholders to elevate education standards both locally and globally.
The call was made during an exclusive interview with Newsmen in Yola on Thursday.
Mr. Penuel emphasized the critical role of parents in the educational journey of their children. He urged them to pay close attention and ensure their wards receive quality education, stating that parental involvement is indispensable for proper child development.
"The Adamawa State Government, under the visionary leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has fulfilled its part by providing all necessary learning materials and infrastructure," Mr. Penuel stated. "Therefore, parents must not be negligent in their fundamental duty of sending their children to school regularly."
Highlighting the state government's commitment, the PPSMB Executive Secretary noted significant progress in the sector, attributing it to the administration's strategic focus. He revealed that education received top priority in the current fiscal budget, and ongoing efforts to recruit more qualified teachers are underway to further boost educational development.
Mr. Penuel also addressed teachers directly, advising them to demonstrate high commitment to their duties. He announced that school inspections would soon be conducted across the state to assess teaching performance and overall school management.
World Education Day, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly, is observed annually on January 24. The day serves as a global platform to reflect on the importance of education, review achievements, and address persistent challenges within the sector.
