The Chief Imam of the Police Barracks Juma’at Mosque in Yola, CSP Ahmad Suleiman, has called on Muslim Ummah to uphold true Islamic teachings and good morals to promote peace and development.

Speaking to Radio Nigeria Yola , Imam Suleiman said the purpose of human creation is to worship Allah, and should therefore abide by the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the traditions of the Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him.

He urged Muslims to live peacefully with all people, regardless of faith, stressing that bandits, kidnappers, and insurgents do not represent Islam but reflect their own criminal intentions.

He said Islam protects the rights of all people, including non-religious and traditional believers.

The cleric noted that kindness to parents and maintaining family and social ties enhance life in this world and the Hereafter.

He described Islam as a religion of peace and urged believers to speak the truth or remain silent.

Imam Suleiman said a true Muslim does not harm others, especially neighbours, and warned that cheating destroys good deeds.

He contended that avoiding what Allah has forbidden is essential to being a true servant of God.

The Chief Imam called on Muslims to intensify prayers for Nigeria’s security challenges and peaceful conduct of the forthcoming general elections.
