By Alhassan Haladu Yola.  Adamawa State Police Command has commenced a full-scale investigation into the killing of Pastor Emmanuel Ezeoikwe, which occurred in Zinai Village, Bolki, Song Local Government Area. Police  Public Relation Officer Adamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. On the 21st of April, 2026, at about 6:30 am, the Command received a report from one Amos Sunday of the same community, that at about 12:48am of the same date, suspected gunmen invaded the village and shot the victim. Upon receipt of the report, police operatives of the Command swiftly moved to the scene, where they found the lifeless body of the victim and rushed him to a hospital. He was, however, confirmed dead by a medical doctor, while the corpse was deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy. The Special Assistant to the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, on Public Affairs, Barrister Sunday Wugira, has called on citizens to ensure they obtain their voter cards in order to participate in electing leaders of their choice in the 2027 general elections. Barrister Sunday Wugira made this appeal while speaking with journalists in Yola.  He emphasized that it is very important for all eligible citizens to obtain their voter cards promptly, as this gives them the power to elect credible leaders. Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with reported cases of shop breaking and theft at Palluja Market, Jimeta-Yola North local Government Area. Police Public Relation Officer Adamawa state Command SO Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje states this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. On the 19th of April, 2026, at about 2345 hours, operatives of the Command, acting on credible intelligence, carried out a coordinated operation targeting criminal hideouts within Girei and its environs. The operation led to the successful arrest of one Suleiman Mahmud, a 25-year-old resident of Wuro-Jabbe, Yola South Local Government Area. The suspect was intercepted while transporting illicit substances en route to the Cameroon Republic. Muslim Women Urged to Join Women in Da’awa Committee in Adamawa

The Coordinator of the Women in Da’awa Committee in Adamawa State, Hajiya Rabi’atu Ahmed Buhari, made the call while speaking with journalists in Yola. Hajiya Rabi’atu explained that there is a strong need for women to actively contribute to the growth of Islam at all times.  She therefore urged Muslim women to join the committee and play their part in promoting religious development. Adamawa State Police Command has again arrested two individuals in connection with another case of conspiracy and culpable homicide in Michika Local Government Area of the state. On 12th April, 2026, one Daniel Samuel, aged 22 years, a resident of Michika town, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Michika, with marks of violent and blood stains on his body. He alleged that on the same day, one Dakiyar Tumba, aged 23 years, and Sini Luka, aged 31 years, both of the same address, attacked and fatally stabbed him on his back with a knife. The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with the killing of a 25year-old man, Friday Isah, in Mubi North Local Government Area of the state. WIND STORM DAMAGED SHAGARI CLINIC, YOLA

By Shehu Aliyu Yola. Shagari Clinic in Yola, Adamawa State, was damaged by a heavy windstorm accompanied by the first rainfall, affecting the male ward. Report indicates that the incident did not however affect individuals as at the time of this report. This incident is part of a larger issue of flooding in the area, which has caused displacement and disruption of healthcare services. In his comments, the Chairman Ward Development Committee, WDC, Shehu Usman Aliyu who confirm the incident, called on the authories and wealth individuals to intervene with immediate effect to building from far damage and interruption in free floor of health care services in the area. Floods in July 2025 ravaged Shagari and other communities in Yola, killing several people, destroying homes, and displacing residents. NSCDC Adamawa State Command Deploys 2,521 Personnel for Easter Festivitie

The State Commandant, Comdt Idris Bande, issued the directive for the massive deployment to provide adequate safety and security for lives and property, as well as to protect all critical national assets and infrastructure within Adamawa State during the Easter period. The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, in-charge of Zone 3 Headquarters, Yola, AIG Akinwale Kunle Adeniran has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations to conduct training for police Constables on weapon handling.  Zonal Police Public Relation Officer Zone 3 Yola command SP Aminu Umar Bashir states this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola  The training which commence today, is inline with the recent instruction from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu  to ensure that all police officers receive proper and standardized training in thier profession.
