Jamilu Gwamna Emarges APC Governorship Candidate In Gombe

All Progressives Congress, APC, in Gombe State has declared Dr. Jamilu  Gwamna as the winner of the party’s governorship primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections. Announcing the results at the APC State Secretariat in Gombe, Chairman of the Governorship Primary Election Committee, Senator Sani Danladi, said Dr. Gwamna emerged victorious after polling two hundred and forty-seven thousand, one hundred and sixty-one votes. His closest rivals, former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, secured twelve thousand, one hundred and twenty votes, while former Minister of Transportation, Senator Said Ahmed Alkali, polled eleven thousand, six hundred and twelve votes. NSCDC Deploys 1,352 Personnel for Eid-el-Kabir Security in Adamawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Adamawa State Command, has intensified efforts to strengthen security during the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebrations across the 21 local government areas of the state. The Public Relations Officer of the Corps in Adamawa State, DSC Amidu Nyako Baba, disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Yola. DSC Amidu Nyako Baba stated that the NSCDC, under the leadership of Commandant Idris D. Bande, has deployed 1,352 personnel to ensure adequate security at Eid prayer grounds and celebration venues across Adamawa State. According to him, the Corps has put all necessary measures in place to prevent any security breach during the festivities. FRSC Assures Accident-Free Eid-el-Kabir Celebration in Adamawa

As preparations intensify for the 2027 Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced that it has concluded all necessary arrangements to ensure a hitch-free festive period without road crashes before, during, and after the celebrations. The direct primaries of the All Progressives Congress for the House of Representatives were conducted peacefully and harmoniously across Gombe State. Correspondents of Radio Nigeria who monitored the exercise in some ward election centres observed that voting commenced smoothly, with card-carrying party members queuing in an orderly manner without any rancour. NASU, SSANU Embark on Strike Over Unmet Agreements

TheNon-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) have embarked on an indefinite strike following the Federal government failure to conclude the renegotiation of the 2009 agreement and other demands. The unions said the decision was taken after several rounds of discussions with government officials ended without any concrete resolution.  They noted that despite sustained engagement and dialogue, no meaningful progress was achieved, leaving them with no option but to proceed with the industrial action. Speaking to journalists in Yola, the Chairperson of NASU at Modibbo Adama University, Comrade Sadiya Mustafa, stated that the strike would continue until the government addresses their long-standing demands. She emphasized that union members are workers like any other and deserve fair treatment, adding that the prolonged delay in meeting their demands prompted the strike as a last resort.
