The Adamawa State Post-Primary Schools Management Board has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the quality of education in all secondary schools across Adamawa State.
The Acting Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Post-Primary Schools Management Board, Mr. Birsan Penuel, disclosed this while speaking with Newsmen in Yola.
Mr. Penuel said the Board has taken all necessary measures to ensure that secondary schools are adequately supplied with teaching and learning materials for both teachers and students.
According to him, this will contribute significantly to improving educational standards across the state.
He commended the Adamawa State Government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for prioritising the education sector and providing schools with the resources needed to ensure that students receive quality education.
Mr. Penuel added that, in addition to paying students' examination fees for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination WAEC and the National Examinations Council NECO examinations, Governor Fintiri has also procured teaching and learning materials for all public secondary schools across the state.
He further assured that the Board would closely monitor the use of the materials to ensure they are properly utilised.
He warned that anyone found misusing or diverting the items would face disciplinary action as a deterrent to others.
Mr. Penuel therefore called on all stakeholders in the education sector to support and cooperate with the Board in its efforts to improve secondary education throughout Adamawa State.
He also urged parents to play a more active role in their children's education by assisting them with their studies at home and monitoring their academic progress.
According to him, this will help ensure that children attend school regularly and perform better academically.
Mr. Penuel stressed that parents must work closely with teachers if children are to receive quality education.
The acting Secretary therefore called for stronger collaboration between teachers and parents, especially through the Parents-Teachers Association PTA, to ensure that students receive the education they deserve.
