APC Wins All Chairmanship, Councillorship Seats In Gombe

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has won all chairmanship and councillorship seats in the Gombe State Local Government Council elections. The elections, conducted by the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission, GOSIEC, took place across the state's eleven Local Government Areas and thirteen Local Council Development Areas. Announcing the results, GOSIEC Chairman, Abdullahi  Talasse, said the APC secured all eleven local government chairmanship seats, all thirteen LCDA chairmanship seats, and all two hundred and forty councillorship positions. He explained that the APC was the only political party that fielded candidates in all the local governments, LCDAs, and councillorship wards, while other parties contested only in selected areas. Muslims Urged to Use Ashura Fasting to Pray for Peace, Security and Economic Recovery

EIGHT KILLED IN FARMERS-HERDERS CLASH IN GULMA TOWN, POLICE RESCUE FIVE

The Kebbi State Police Command is investigating a violent farmers-herders clash in Gulma Town, Argungu Local Government Area, which resulted in the death of eight persons: one farmer and seven herders. Police Public Relation Officer Kebbi state Command SP Bashir Usman discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Kebbi. The incident occurred on 22/06/2026 at about 1500 hours when a herder, Yaron Buba Dogo, allegedly allowed his cattle to stray into the farmland of one Alh. Aminu Ala, destroying crops. The Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority (GOSUPDA) has reiterated its commitment to demolishing unauthorized buildings and structures within the Gombe metropolis. The Executive Chairman of the agency, Bappayo Samanja, disclosed this to journalists shortly after a demolition exercise targeting illegal structures along Ojir Quarters to the Old Mile Three Roundabout in Gombe. Samanja stated that the agency would not hesitate to take action against any illegal structure erected on government land, public spaces, or in violation of urban planning regulations. The Adamawa State Police Command regrets to confirm a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on 3rd June, 2026, at about 1:50 p.m. along the Narehi area of Girei-Song Local Government Areas.
