The Adamawa State Police Command regrets to confirm a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on 3rd June, 2026, at about 1:50 p.m. along the Narehi area of Girei-Song Local Government Areas.
Police Public Relation OfficerAdamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.
The unfortunate incident involved a military Gun truck travelling from Gombi towards Yola and a commercial Hummer bus conveying five (5) passengers from Yola to Mubi. Preliminary findings reveals that both vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, resulting in the commercial bus flipped over and burst into flames.
Tragically, all five passengers aboard the Hummer bus were burnt to death after the vehicle caught fire following the collision. Preliminary identification reveals that four of the deceased were serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) posted to Adamawa State. They are..

2. Usman Shuaibu 'm' both indigines of Kaduna State while the remaining are yet to be idenrified.
The Command also confirms that one military personnel attached to the military vehicle lost his life as a result of the crash.
Police operatives, in collaboration with other emergency responders, promptly responded to the scene. The corpses have been evacuated to the Specialist Hospital, Yola, while efforts are ongoing to identify the remaining bodies and locate their families.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, 𝐂𝐏 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐫 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧, 𝐟𝐝𝐜, expresses his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the National Youth Service Corps, and all those affected by this tragic incident.
