Stakeholders, UNICEF Draft 2028-2032 Plan for Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara

UNICEF and stakeholders from Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states have reviewed 2026 programme progress and drafted a new Country Programme for 2028-2032 focused on women and children. At the two-day meeting in Sokoto, UNICEF Chief Field Officer Michael Juma said the goal was to identify key challenges from the last 3.5 years and propose evidence-based, high-impact, child-centric solutions.  He urged ministries to set 4-5 critical priorities for health, education, and other sectors, and stressed aligning state development plans with the new CPD to improve scalability, quality, and sustainability.  He also called for stronger links between development and humanitarian responses to address emergencies and child deprivations. PPSMB VOW TO PROMOTING EDUCATION ACROSS SECONDARY SCHOLLS IN THE STATE.

  By Alhassan Haladu Yola. The Adamawa State Post-Primary Schools Management Board has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the quality of education in all secondary schools across Adamawa State. The Acting Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Post-Primary Schools Management Board, Mr. Birsan Penuel, disclosed this while speaking with Newsmen in Yola. Mr. Penuel said the Board has taken all necessary measures to ensure that secondary schools are adequately supplied with teaching and learning materials for both teachers and students.  According to him, this will contribute significantly to improving educational standards across the state. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting NSCDC in the discharge of its constitutional mandate across the state. Public Relation Officer Adamawa NSCDC Command DSC Amidu Nyako Baba Stated this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. The assurance was given when the newly deployed Adamawa State Commandant, Commandant Nasiru Saleh, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor at the Government House, Yola, following his assumption of duty. Executive secretary of the Adamawa State Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB), Mr. Birsan Penuel, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Adamawa State Commissioner for Agriculture, Professor David Jatau. In a condolence message, Mr. Penuel described the late Professor Jatau as a dedicated and committed public servant whose invaluable contributions to the development of Adamawa State will be remembered for years to come. He noted that the professor's death is a great loss not only to his family but also to the entire people of the state. Mr. Penuel, in a statement he personally signed, said Adamawa State has lost one of its finest leaders. Traditional Rulers Urged to Strengthen Peace, Unity and Community Development in Adamawa

The District Head of Namtari, Alhaji Abba Isa Mustafa, made the call during the turbaning ceremony of Alhaji Sahabo Baba as the Majimilan Namtari Girel in the Namtari Chiefdom, Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State. Alhaji Abba Isa Mustafa said traditional rulers play a crucial role in fostering unity and driving community development.  He therefore called on all holders of traditional titles to remain committed to promoting peace, harmony, and sustainable development within their communities.
