Traditional Rulers Urged to Strengthen Peace, Unity and Community Development in Adamawa

Traditional rulers have been urged to intensify efforts toward promoting peace, unity, and peaceful coexistence among members of their communities.


The District Head of Namtari, Alhaji Abba Isa Mustafa, made the call during the turbaning ceremony of Alhaji Sahabo Baba as the Majimilan Namtari Girel in the Namtari Chiefdom, Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State.


Alhaji Abba Isa Mustafa said traditional rulers play a crucial role in fostering unity and driving community development.


 He therefore called on all holders of traditional titles to remain committed to promoting peace, harmony, and sustainable development within their communities.


He advised the newly installed Majimilan Namtari Girel, Alhaji Sahabo Baba, to lead with fairness, honesty, integrity, and the fear of God to ensure the continued progress of the Namtari Chiefdom. He also appealed to the people of the chiefdom to remain united and work together for the advancement of the traditional institution and the overall development of Adamawa State.


The District Head further urged traditional leaders to champion initiatives that would enhance development and help tackle the social and security challenges confronting their communities.


In his remarks, the new Majimilan Namtari Girel, Alhaji Sahabo Baba, expressed appreciation to the District Head of Namtari and the Lamido of Adamawa for the confidence reposed in him through his appointment. He described the traditional title as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the Namtari Chiefdom.


Alhaji Sahabo Baba pledged to work closely with the traditional institution and the people to strengthen unity, promote peace, and advance sustainable development across the chiefdom.


 He appealed to the people of Namtari Girel to support and cooperate with him in implementing projects that would improve the well-being of the community.


He assured the people of his commitment to working with all stakeholders to promote the overall development of the Namtari Chiefdom and called on the public to continue praying for lasting peace and an end to the security challenges facing Adamawa State and Nigeria.
