UNICEF call Government and partners to tackle issue of insecurity and climate change, challenges across Nigeria.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has identified rapid population growth, insecurity, climate-related challenges and economic pressures are among the major issues threatening the well-being and future of children in Nigeria.
The Chief of UNICEF Kano Field Office, Shafeeq Ur-Rehman, stated this at the Kano Field Office consultation on the development of the Federal Government of Nigeria/UNICEF Country Programme Document (CPD) 2028–2032.
The Chief of field office called on governments and development partners to adopt a multisectoral approach to tackling interconnected challenges, stressing that sustainable progress for children could only be achieved through coordinated interventions.
Ur-Rehman said the 2028–2032 Country Programme was developed at a critical period when children face increasingly complex challenges.
According to him, the consultative process was intended to ensure that the new Country Programme reflects the priorities of state governments and aligns with their development plans, sectoral strategies and the aspirations of communities across Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states.
