The Adamawa State Police Command regrets to confirm a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on 3rd June, 2026, at about 1:50 p.m. along the Narehi area of Girei-Song Local Government Areas. Police Public Relation OfficerAdamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. The unfortunate incident involved a military Gun truck travelling from Gombi towards Yola and a commercial Hummer bus conveying five (5) passengers from Yola to Mubi. Preliminary findings reveals that both vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, resulting in the commercial bus flipped over and burst into flames. Tragically, all five passengers aboard the Hummer bus were burnt to death after the vehicle caught fire following the collision. The Chairperson of ASUU, MAU Yola branch, Comrade Modibbo Muhammed Buba, disclosed this in a statement issued shortly after the union’s congress held at the university. According to Comrade Buba, the media interaction became necessary for two main reasons — to brief the public on the state of the union’s engagement with the Federal Government concerning outstanding issues, and to clarify the notice of action issued by the National Executive Council (NEC) of ASUU on 29th September 2025.
