NDLEA, MCRP Mega Wada sensitization program ends in Adamawa
The well-organized four-week Mega WADA Sensitization Program by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Zone B Yola, in collaboration with the Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP), ended on Wednesday.
The initiative concluded at the Government Day Secondary School in Wuro Hausa, Yola.
This program spanned all twenty-one Local Government Areas in Adamawa State.
The closing ceremony featured a lecture presentation, a question-and-answer session, and the inauguration of the WADA club.
The event, which lasted two hours, was attended by ACGN Idris Mohammed Bello, the Zonal Commander of NDLEA Zone B Yola, and the State Coordinator of MCRP, represented by Alhaji Haruna Hamman the Furo, the C1 Manager of MCRP.
During the program, ASN ISO Ahmed Jiddah Ahmed, a media advocate for NDLEA Zone B in Yola, addressed the attendees.
The Deputy Zonal Commander of Operations and Training, CN Mustapha Gidado, spoke to the students about the effects and consequences of drug abuse, as well as preventive measures.
The Zonal Commander also inaugurated the WADA club, clearly outlining the expectations for its members in the fight against drug abuse.
In his closing remarks, the C1 Manager of MCRP commended NDLEA Zone B Yola for their excellent work.
He expressed enthusiasm, particularly because the activities are under his department, and announced plans for drug-free competitions and dramas to be introduced next year, aiming to recognize schools that excel in these areas.
The Principal of the school, Mr. Adamu Aliyu, expressed gratitude to NDLEA and MCRP for selecting their school as a beneficiary of this important program.
He pledged to actively participate in WADA initiatives and requested MCRP to consider their school for future intervention programs.
After the event, the Zonal Commander honored Mr. Adamu Aliyu by designating him as a WADA Ambassador.
