The Centre for Peace, Education, and Community Development (CPECD), Adamawa State, has pledged to promote peace, foster development, and protect the rights of citizens in the state and across Nigeria.

Head of Programmes for the NGO, Mr. Sharif Waziri, made this known while speaking with newsmen in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

Waziri emphasized that the organisation is working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure the rights of citizens are safeguarded against all forms of discrimination in society.

According to him, the NGO has observed that citizens’ rights are often violated in various sectors, including security, transportation, and others. He said the organisation will investigate such violations and take appropriate action.

He called on communities to give maximum support to the NGO to enable it to achieve its mission of eliminating discrimination among Nigerians.

Waziri also advised Nigerians to be law-abiding, avoid acts that breach the law, and engage in actions that promote peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence.

He further disclosed that the NGO is organising awareness programmes to educate citizens on their rights and how to ensure they are protected.

Waziri urged members of the public to promptly report their challenges to the NGO for timely intervention in addressing human rights issues across the country.
