Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has charged newly trained forest guards to discharge their duties with professionalism and avoid intimidating or harassing peace-loving members of the public. The governor gave the charge at the graduation ceremony of 987 forest guards held at General Murtala Mohammed College (GMMC), Yola. He was represented at the event by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta. Governor Fintiri urged the graduates to see themselves as privileged citizens called to serve their communities and the nation, stressing that their training should be used to protect lives, property and the environment, rather than for abuse of authority. FG Graduates Over 7,000 Forest Guards, Commences Immediate Deployment

The Federal Government has graduated over 7,000 newly recruited Forest Guards for immediate deployment across seven frontline states as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s internal security and reclaim forest areas from criminal elements. The guards, recruited under the Presidential Forest Guards Initiative launched by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in May 2025, completed an intensive three-month training programme coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). Graduation ceremonies were held on December 27, 2025, in Borno, Sokoto, Yobe, Adamawa, Niger, Kwara, and Kebbi States. POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS TERRORISING SARAU BELEL, MAIHA LGA

Adamawa State Police Command has recorded a significant breakthrough with the arrest of two suspected kidnappers responsible for the kidnapping and related threats within Sarau Belel community, Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State. ‎By Abubakar Ibrahim Yola. ‎The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed the first and second readings of the proposed 2026 Appropriation Bill for the state. ‎ ‎The passage followed the formal presentation of the 2026 budget proposal by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the hallowed chambers of the House on Thursday. ‎ ‎Presenting the budget, Governor Fintiri proposed a total expenditure of ₦583,331,380,496 for the 2026 fiscal year, formulated in line with prevailing macro-economic realities and the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework. ‎ ‎Tagged “Budget of Sustainable Growth and Renewal,” the proposal allocates ₦209,640,415,814.00 to recurrent expenditure, representing 35.93 percent of the total budget, while ₦373,690,964,682.00, or 64.06 percent, is earmarked for capital expenditure. ‎ ‎The governor stated that the presentation of the budget was in fulfilment of his constitutional responsibility to outline the government’s financial plan for funding the affairs of the state in the 2026...

Adamawa State Police Command today, 9th December 2025, received the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, DIG Bzigu Yakubu Kwazhi Dali,  for an on-the-spot security assessment of Lamurde Local Government Area. Police Public Relation Officer  Adamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje stated this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. As part of the visit, the DIG met with the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, and other critical stakeholders to discuss the prevailing security situation and deliberate on necessary measures for a lasting solution. ALLERGED SUICIDE AT NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL, YOLA CAMPUS, POLICE BEGIN INVESTIGATION

The Adamawa State Police Command confirms the report of an unfortunate incident involving a 27-year-old student of the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus, identified as Ojajuni Ayo, an indigene of Ondo State. Police Public Relation Officer Adamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. On the 07/12/2025, the Command received a report from the Chief Security Officer of the institution, that on 06/12/2025 at about 11:30 am, a student named Ojajuni Ayomiposi returned to the campus in a tricycle, visibly staggering, and jumped over the fence into the hostel premises. Shortly after, a security guard went to check on him and found him vomiting and lying unconscious. He was immediately rushed to the nearby Hospital where he was admitted and later confirmed dead while receiving treatment.
