ADAMAWA POLICE COMMAND COMMENCES INVESTIGATION INTO ALLEGED SHOOTING INCIDENT IN MUBI

The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced an investigation into an alleged shooting incident involving a resident of Mubi North Local Government Area.
Police Public Relation Officer Asamawa State Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje discloused thin in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.
The incident was reported to the Police on *3rd August, 2026*, by *Mr. Muslim Abubakar* of Yelwa Ward, Mubi North. He alleged that his younger brother, *Suleiman Abubakar*, sustained a gunshot injury during an encounter with some military personnel on the night of *2nd August, 2026*.
Upon receipt of the report, Police operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer, *Mubi North Division*, immediately visited the scene and ensured that the victim received prompt medical attention. He was initially taken to a medical facility in Mubi and was subsequently referred to a higher medical facility in Yola for further treatment.
The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, fdc, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to carry out a thorough, discreet, and impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Command has also established contact with the relevant military authorities to ensure necessary cooperation during the investigation.
The Adamawa State Police Command while appealing for calm, assures members of the public that the investigation will be conducted professionally and transparently. Anyone with useful information that may assist the investigation is encouraged to come forward to the nearest police station or contact the Police Public Relations Office.
