SECURITY STAKEHOLDERS WARN ADAMAWA YOUTHS AGAINST POLITICAL THUGGERY, AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS.

As the 2027 general elections, fast approaching, Adamawa State Government has warn youths to avoid anything that could lead to violence, and embrace peace throughout the electioneering period and beyond.
The state governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, made the call in an event to commemorate International Youth day, organised by the Adamawa State Police Command.
Represented by his special adviser on Security, Hon. Ahmed Lawan, governor Fintiri warned that his government will not tolerate anyone who instigates or participates in violence.
He therefore cautions youths not to allow themselves to be used by individuals for their personal gains, saying government would not fold its arms and watch people cousing unrest.
The governor also tasked parents to play their role by educating youth on the dangers of violence and raising them to be ambassadors of peace before, during, and after the elections.

The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Hassan Kabir Umar, said the program was held on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to use international youth day to sensitize young people on the need to stay away from crime and political thuggery.
CP Umar urged youths to channel their intelligence and energy into nation-building, stressing that they are the backbone of any development.
According to him, youths have an important role to play in promoting peace and development, as well as in preventing violence among members of the community.
Also speaking, Professor Jude A. Momodu of Modibbo Adama University Yola advised youths to recognize their potentials and not trade their dignity for short-term political gains.
"Think carefully about your actions. Protect your safety and your future," he said.
He also challenged politicians to uphold democracy and prioritize national development.
Chairman of the Adamawa State Youth Council, Comrade Ajine Delo, pledged that youths are ready to ensure the 2027 elections are peaceful.
He however called on leaders to do their part by investing in education, and jobs opportunities for young people.
In his message, the Inspector General of police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, whose speech was read by the Deputy Commissioner of police, John Sendere, said the NIgeria Police force has organized similar programs across the country in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
The Inspector General said it was necessary to warn youth against political thuggery and allowing themselves to be used for conflict, especially during elections.
He warned that anyone found breaking the law, would face the appropriate consequences.
"You are adviced to be vigilant and avoid anything that could cause violence, contribute to unity and maintenance of peace".
On his part, the chairman of Adamawa State Youth Council, Comrade Ajine Delo, said youth play an important role in promoting unity and resolving problems.
He expressed their readiness to contribute towards the peaceful conduct of the 2027 general elections.
Comrade Delo has called on leaders to pay greater attention to young people by giving them education opportunities, and employment, saying through these offer they can contribute their quata to development of the society.
In goodwill messages, the Police PPRO, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, reminded youths that they are the leaders of tomorrow, and therefore should not compromise their dignity.
While Hajiya Hauwa Hassan Umar Kabir, Chairperson of POWA in Adamawa, urged mothers to provide proper upbringing at home to secure a better future for the next generation.
The event was attended by religious leaders, traditional rulers, various youth associations, and parents from across the state. Discussions centered on practical steps to prevent election-related violence.
