IGP Assures of protection for officers Rights.

        




The Nigeria Police Force is deeply concerned about the recent reprehensible and grievous assault on a police officer  at Chevron Roundabout, Lekki, Lagos State. 


Nigeria Police Public Relation Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Abuja.


 Inspector-General of Police,  Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun,  has expressed dismay over this incident. The assailant, 47-year-old Oluwaseun Jacobs, a cobbler based in Ajah, has been apprehended, already been arraigned in court on a three-count charge including assault occasioning bodily harm, and conduct likely to cause breech of peace.


The case has been adjourned to July 8, 2024 for hearing, while the suspect is currently remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending further legal proceedings.


The Inspector General of Police hereby assures all officers of the NPF’s full support in situations where their rights are violated noting that the Force would not condone such embarrassing situations. He emphasized that the safety of officers is paramount and runs pari passu with the fundamental rights of citizens, reiterating that the NPF will not tolerate any form of assault on its officers, and will ensure that those responsible face the full wrath of the law.


The Nigeria Police Force calls on all citizens to respect the role of the Nigeria Police in maintaining law and order, cooperate and support the process in creating a safer and more secure society for all. We assure the public that the Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its mission to protect lives and property, and to uphold justice and the rule of law. Further updates on the case will be provided as the legal proceedings continue.

The Adamawa State Police Command regrets to confirm a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on 3rd June, 2026, at about 1:50 p.m. along the Narehi area of Girei-Song Local Government Areas. Police Public Relation OfficerAdamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje  discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. The unfortunate incident involved a military Gun truck travelling from Gombi towards Yola and a commercial Hummer bus conveying five (5) passengers from Yola to Mubi. Preliminary findings reveals that both vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, resulting in the commercial bus flipped over and burst into flames. ASUU MODIBBO ADAMA UNIVERSITY BRANCH COMMENCED TWO WEEK WARNING STRIKE.

NSCDC Adamawa State Command Deploys 2,521 Personnel for Easter Festivitie

The State Commandant, Comdt Idris Bande, issued the directive for the massive deployment to provide adequate safety and security for lives and property, as well as to protect all critical national assets and infrastructure within Adamawa State during the Easter period.
