Adamawa NSCD deploys personnel to protect headers and farmers during harvest
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Adamawa State Command has deployed personnel to protect headers and farmers across the state.
Command's Public Relations Officer, DSC Nyako Amidu Baba disclosed this while speaking to journalists in Yola, state Capital.
DSC Nyako Amidu said the Command is ready to protect farmers and headers during and after their activities of harvest in the state.
DSC Nyako explained that most of the clashes between Farmers and headers occurred during the harvesting period.
He mentioned that the command is consulting with the stakeholders in various parts of the state to work together for peace between the two parties for the development of the state.
DSC Amidu Baba advised the farmers and headers to avoid taking the law into their own hands but always report any problem to the command for necessary action.
He also called on the Traditional rulers, especially in rural areas to do everything possible not to allocate grazing area for farmers to avoid crisis between Farmers and headers in the state and the country at large.
Additionally, Baba advised farmers and headers to live in peace and work together for the development of their activities in the state.
He urged the people of Adamawa state to always help the command with useful information which will allow them to tackle conflict between Farmers and headers in time.
DSC Amidu Baba further assured the people of the state of the command's readiness to protect the lives and properties of citizens.
