IGP Egbetokun commissions New Ultra modern police headquarters complex in Yola

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has officially commissioned the new ultra-modern police Headquarters Complex Thursday in Adamawa state.


IGP Egbetokun said that the provisions of conducive working environment and welfare to men and officers of the force remains the cardinal objective of his  stewardship in the Nigeria police force.


He enjoined the police personal to be more professional in the delivery of services to the public with a view to ensuring peace and tranquility among the citizenry.


He also expressed gratitude to the support and corporation being rendered to the force by the governments and sister security agencies in the discharge of their official engagements.


In his remarks, the state police commissioner in charge of Adamawa state command,CP Dankwabo Morris applauded the IGP Egbetokun for making his command to be among the commands to have such edifice.


CP Dankwabo Morris described the new structure as “a project which addressed the challenges of office accommodation in the command” urging his men and officers to guard it jealously.


Morris pleaded with the IGP Egbetokun and his management team to assist in addressing some of the major challenges facing his command including inadequate operational vehicles, shortage of manpower,lack of good and effective communication system (Control room).


He added that dilapidated police barracks accommodations and cases of kidnapping in border areas between Nigeria and Cameroonian territory due to the mountainous terrains are among the challenges facing his command calling for immediate attention.


“In view of the above,I will like to use this medium to crave the indulgence of the IGP to look into the aforementioned challenges especially operational vehicles in order to enhance our operational capabilities.


“Sir, as you commission this new police Headquarters Complex Adamawa state today,it will go a long way in boosting the morale of officers and men in providing quality service to the community we serve “. Morris maintained.


Earlier the IGP Egbetokun has paid courtesy calls on the Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the Lamido Adamawa,HRH Barkido Aliyu Mustapha
