Muslims Ummah have been advised to double their Ibadat during the month of Ramadan.

In the spirit of Ramadan, Muslims faithful have been admonished to redouble their efforts in prayers for Allah's guidance and abundant rewards so as to benefit  from Allah's bounties.


Sheik Modibbo Sufyanu Modibbo Iya Rumde, the Wakili Malamai Adamawa gave the admonishment in an exclusive interview with the Daily Chronicles Newspaper reporter Abubakar Ibrahim, shortly after the daily Qur'an Tafsir at his mosque in Jimeta Yola, the Adamawa state capital.


Modibbo Sufyanu who is also the Deputy Chairman, National Council for Nigerian Imams, maintained that abstinence from, sin, sexual intercourses during the day, taking alcohol, lewd comments and hypocrisy are among the prohibitions of the Holy Month calling on the Muslims to abstain from such acts.


The Imam noted that Ramadan is an annual worship period in fulfilment of the commandment of Allah to instill His fear among believers, pointing out that it is an opportunity to further strengthen the spiritual capacity between Allah and his servants.


While advising other Islamic scholars who preach during the Holy Month to be wary and selective of their words, Sheikh Modibbo Sufyanu also drew their attention to stick to the style of teaching that promotes peace and unity devoid of provocative speaches that georpadize the standard Islamic preaching methods.


He also called on the fasting Muslims to make use of the period to intensify prayers, provide for the needy, observe night supererogatory prayers, recitation of the Holy Qur'an in order to receive multiple rewards from Allah.
