In a bid to tackle the threat and circulation of illegal arms in the State, the Adamawa State Police Command has pledged to collaborate with the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) in the fight against the proliferation of illicit arms and light weapons.

Police public Relation Officer Adamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.

Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris,  made it known during a courtesy visit to the Command by  the NCCSALW North-East Zonal Coordinator, Major General Abubakar Adamu (Rtd).

While welcoming the delegation, the Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s readiness to work closely with the Centre to rid the State of illegal firearms and ensure public safety.

In his remarks, the Zonal Coordinator sought the continued support and cooperation of the Command to achieve this giant stride by mopping up illegal weapons from circulation through collection and destruction.
