Many orphans and underprivileged people have received financial assistance from the Muslim Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MMPAN), Adamawa State chapter.

The distribution of the assistance took place at the secretariat of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) in Jimeta, located in Yola North Local Government Area, the capital of Adamawa State.

The Chairman of MMPAN in Adamawa State, Mallam Shehu Aliyu, who was represented by his deputy, Ibrahim Abubakar, said the association decided to support orphans and the less-privileged in view of the holy month of Ramadan, especially during the last ten days of the fasting period.

Mallam Shehu explained that performing acts of charity during the last ten days of Ramadan is very important and carries great rewards.

He therefore urged Muslims to always support the needy in order to receive blessings and positive outcomes.

Ibrahim Abubakar also reaffirmed the association’s commitment to continue focusing on improving the welfare of the community, particularly the less-privileged.

According to him, the association has been carrying out various activities aimed at improving people’s lives and promoting community development in different ways.

He further stated that the association organized the programme to demonstrate that journalists also have an important role to play in helping society in different areas.

He noted that they had hoped to assist even more people, but due to the current situation, they were only able to reach a limited number.

He prayed that Allah accepts their efforts, grants everyone the strength to complete the Ramadan fast in good health, and accepts all acts of worship so that believers may attain salvation on the Day of Judgment.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Muslim Affairs Council in Yola North Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdullahi Abubakar Butu, commended MMPAN for its dedication to providing the support.

He said the assistance was made possible through contributions raised by members of the association and described the effort as commendable.

Alhaji Abdullahi Butu also called on other organisations to emulate MMPAN by regularly supporting the needy.

Similarly, Alhaji Umar Bappari Kem, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of MMPAN in Adamawa State, reiterated the call for people to engage in acts of charity during the last ten days of Ramadan.

He expressed happiness over the support given to orphans and the less-privileged across Adamawa State.

He also praised the association and urged members of the public to continue supporting MMPAN so it can achieve its goal of assisting the community without difficulties.

Each of the orphan and underprivileged beneficiaries received ₦5,000 to help ease their difficulties and support them during the fasting period, particularly in the last ten days of Ramadan.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their happiness and appreciation for the assistance they received, saying it brought them great joy.

They also called on other organisations to emulate MMPAN by always helping those in need.
