By Alhassan Haladu Yola.

Teachers in Adamawa State have been urged to cooperate with parents and carry out their duties with the fear of God, honesty, and integrity as part of efforts to improve education across the state.

The Acting Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB), Mr. Birsan Penuel, made the call during the presentation of appointment letters to newly recruited teachers at the board’s headquarters in Yola.

Mr. Penuel stated that the recruitment of 5,000 new teachers by the Adamawa State Government would help address the shortage of teachers in schools across the state.

He commended the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for its commitment to improving the education sector, noting that the governor has played a key role in advancing education throughout Adamawa State.

According to him, the PPSMB has recorded remarkable achievements since he assumed office, particularly in promoting educational development in secondary schools. He explained that the board had distributed various textbooks to secondary schools across the state.

Mr. Penuel further revealed that all science secondary schools in Adamawa State had received laboratory equipment, science textbooks, and other learning materials to enhance effective teaching and learning.

He assured that the board would continue to implement measures aimed at sustaining the growth and development of education in the state.

The PPSMB boss also advised parents to continue supporting teachers and the board to ensure that students receive quality education.

He noted that parents play a vital role in their children’s education because children spend more time at home than in school.

He further called on parents to continue supporting the administration of Governor Fintiri in its efforts to improve education across Adamawa State.

Mr. Penuel equally urged students to remain focused on their studies, attend school regularly and punctually, and obey their teachers and school authorities in order to achieve academic success.
