Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has announced minor changes to his cabinet.

Governor Fintiri said, “The changes are designed to harness fresh energy for the government’s final lap, bring new insights, and give commissioners a broader, more rounded experience of government.”


Chief press secretary to the Governor Fintiri Humwashi Wonosikou discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.


Two commissioners swapped portfolios. Sali Idris moves from the Ministry of Livestock to the Ministry of Agriculture, while Prof. David Jatau takes over the Ministry of Livestock from Agriculture.


Muhammad Chubado, former Commissioner for Energy Development, is now Commissioner for Health and Human Services.


In the interim, the Commissioner for Special Duties, Usman Lamurde, will oversee the Ministry of Livestock pending the return of Prof. Jatau, who is on sick leave.


The Governor has also assigned the newly appointed Commissioner, Leader Leneke, to take charge of the Ministry of Information and Strategy following the resignation of James Iliya, who is seeking nomination to contest for the Demsa House of Assembly seat.

ASUU MODIBBO ADAMA UNIVERSITY BRANCH COMMENCED TWO WEEK WARNING STRIKE.

  By Alhassan Haladu Yola. ‎The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Modibbo Adama University (MAU) Yola branch, has commenced a two-week warning strike in compliance with the directive of the union’s national body over unresolved demands with the Federal Government. ‎ ‎The Chairperson of ASUU, MAU Yola branch, Comrade Modibbo Muhammed Buba, disclosed this in a statement issued shortly after the union’s congress held at the university. ‎ ‎According to Comrade Buba, the media interaction became necessary for two main reasons — to brief the public on the state of the union’s engagement with the Federal Government concerning outstanding issues, and to clarify the notice of action issued by the National Executive Council (NEC) of ASUU on 29th September 2025. ‎ ‎He said the NEC meeting had expressed concern over the Federal Government’s neglect of the university system and its persistent refusal to meet the union’s longstanding demands.
