AIG ZONE 3 CHARGES OFFICERS AND MEN ON DISCIPLINE, HUMAN RIGHTS, RULE OF LAW, PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT, AND FITNESS.

 Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 3 Headquarters, Yola, AIG Akinwale Kunle Adeniran,  has charged officers and men under the Zone to uphold the highest standards of discipline, punctuality, effective supervision, professionalism, physical fitness, and respect for fundamental human rights in the discharge of their constitutional duties.



The AIG gave the charge during a lecture session held for officers and men of the Zone, where he emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and commitment to duty as essential ingredients for effective policing and improved public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.


Zone 3 Police Public Relation Officer Zone 3 Yola SP Aminu Umar Bashir Stated this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.


Speaking during the lecture, the AIG stressed the need for officers to be punctual and regular at duty posts, noting that lateness, negligence, and absenteeism weaken operational effectiveness and undermine public trust in the Force. He directed supervisory officers at all levels to intensify monitoring, inspection, and mentoring of subordinate personnel to ensure strict compliance with operational guidelines and ethical standards.



The AIG further emphasized that effective supervision remains critical to maintaining discipline within the Force, adding that supervisors must lead by example through accountability, professionalism, and fairness in the discharge of their responsibilities.



On the issue of human rights and rule of law, the AIG reminded officers that policing must be carried out within the confines of the law and in line with globally accepted policing standards. He warned against all forms of unlawful detention, harassment, intimidation, extortion, and abuse of citizens’ rights, stating that officers found engaging in unprofessional conduct would face disciplinary action.



The AIG also highlighted the importance of physical fitness and mental alertness, urging officers and men to maintain healthy lifestyles and participate actively in routine physical exercises to enhance operational readiness and effectiveness in responding to security challenges.



Addressing the use of social media, the AIG cautioned officers against the misuse of various social media platforms, warning that personnel must avoid posting classified information, operational activities, official documents, or content capable of tarnishing the image and integrity of the Nigeria Police Force. 



He emphasized that officers must remain disciplined, professional, and responsible in their online engagements in line with established social media policy and directives of the Force Headquarters.



He stated that, the directives are in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, *IGP. Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc(+), NPM,* aimed at strengthening professionalism, discipline, respect for human rights, accountability, and public trust within the Nigeria Police Force

.


The AIG reassured members of the public of the Zone’s commitment to ensuring effective policing, protection of lives and property, promotion of peace, justice, and security across Adamawa and Taraba States.
