APC Primaries for House of Representatives Conducted Peacefully in Gombe
The direct primaries of the All Progressives Congress for the House of Representatives were conducted peacefully and harmoniously across Gombe State.
Correspondents of Radio Nigeria who monitored the exercise in some ward election centres observed that voting commenced smoothly, with card-carrying party members queuing in an orderly manner without any rancour.
At Jekadafari Ward, the Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, joined other party members on the queue and cast his vote peacefully.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after voting, Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise and commended party members for their orderly behaviour.
The governor also appreciated the turnout of voters and confirmed that the elections were conducted peacefully across the eleven local government areas of the state.
Announcing the result for Jekadafari Ward, the Presiding Officer, Yahaya Ibrahim, declared Sadam Bello winner of the APC primary election for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency after scoring 23,000 votes to defeat his opponent, Zakariya Jeddah, who polled 10 votes.
