Adamawa State Police Command is investigating a case of criminal conspiracy, house breaking, and armed robbery following a reported of attack by suspected hoodlums around students’ residence in Numan Local Government Area.


Police Public Relation Officer Adamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje stated this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.



The incident occurred in the early hours of 28th May, 2026, when a group of unidentified persons armed with cutlasses, sticks, and knives reportedly stormed a students’ compound behind MOPE Extension, Numan, and robbed residents of cash, mobile phones, power banks, and other valuable items. Some victims also sustained various degree of injuries during the attack and were rushed to the General Hospital, Numan for medical attention.


Upon receipt of the report, Police operatives attached to Divisional Police Headquarters, Demsa, swiftly responded to the scene, conducted preliminary investigation, and commenced an intensive operation aimed at apprehending the perpetrators.


The Command has so far arrested one suspect in connection with the incident, while efforts are being intensified to track down and arrest other fleeing members of the gang.


Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, 𝐂𝐏 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐫 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧,  has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the investigation to ensure a thorough and discreet investigation into the matter.


The CP reassures students, residents, and members of the public that the Command remains committed to protecting lives and property and will not relent in its efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.


The Command further urges members of the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting the Police with timely and credible information that will aid ongoing investigation and arrest of the fleeing suspects.
