Adamawa State Police Command has recorded significant success in the ongoing enforcement exercise against vehicles operating without registration number plates and those with concealed, covered, altered, defaced, or tampered registration details.
Police Public Relation Officer ADAMAWA state Command Stated this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.
The operation, carried out by the Special Task Force constituted by the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, 𝐂𝐏 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐮 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧, 𝐟𝐝𝐜, led to the interception of one hundred and seventeen (117) vehicles found in violation of vehicle registration regulations. The offenders were subsequently prosecuted in accordance with extant laws.
The Command notes that the use of unregistered and improperly identified vehicles poses serious security threats and undermines efforts aimed at crime prevention, intelligence gathering, and public safety.
The Commissioner of Police commends the Task Force personnel for their professionalism and dedication and reiterates that the enforcement exercise is not a one-time operation but a continuous statewide exercise. He warns that the Command will sustain the enforcement and intensify monitoring across the state to ensure full compliance.
Vehicle owners and road users are therefore advised to properly register their vehicles and ensure that registration number plates are clearly displayed and not concealed, altered, or tampered with. Violators will continue to face arrest, prosecution, and other legal sanctions as provided by the law
The Adamawa State Police Command remains committed to crime prevention and calls on members of the public to support the ongoing efforts aimed at enhancing security throughout the state.
