The Adamawa State Police Command today received the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the North-East Geopolitical Zone, DIG Zachariah Fera Achinyan, fdc, alongside the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Department of Research and Planning, DIG Ibrahim Baba Zango, psc, who are on an official operational tour of the Command.
Police Public Relation Officer ADAMAWA State Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.
The senior police officers were received by the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, 𝑪𝑷 𝑲𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒓𝒖 𝑼𝒎𝒂𝒓 𝑯𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒏, 𝒇𝒅𝒄, accompanied by members of the Command's Management Team.
As part of the visit, the DIGs paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, 𝐻𝑖𝑠 𝐸𝑥𝑐𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑦 𝑅𝑡. 𝐻𝑜𝑛. 𝐴ℎ𝑚𝑎𝑑𝑢 𝑈𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑢 𝐹𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑟𝑖, 𝐶𝑂𝑁 where discussions centred on the prevailing security situation in the State and strategies for strengthening collaboration between the Police and the State Government in maintaining peace, law, and order.
Similarly, the DIGs paid a royal homage to the Lamido of Adamawa, His Royal Highness 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐮 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐲𝐮 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐟𝐚, 𝐂𝐅𝐑, at his palace in Yola, where issues relating to community engagement, peaceful coexistence, and support for policing efforts were discussed.
The operational tour also featured an engagement with officers and men of the Command. During the session, the DIGs emphasized the importance of professionalism, discipline, and adherence to the vision of the Inspector-General of Police 𝐈𝐆𝐏 𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐉𝐈 𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐖𝐀𝐍 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐔, 𝐩𝐬𝐜(+), 𝐍𝐏𝐌, stressing the IGP's zero-tolerance stance against corruption and misconduct. Officers were urged to uphold the principles of local knowledge policing, maintain tactical alertness, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and remain committed to ethical policing and service delivery. The DIGs further reminded personnel to conduct themselves professionally at all times and remain accountable in the discharge of their duties.
The DIGs also cautioned officers involved in the ongoing enforcement against unregistered vehicles to conduct themselves professionally, emphasizing that the exercise is aimed at enhancing public safety and security and must not be viewed as an opportunity for extortion or any form of unethical conduct.
The operational tour is in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police for strategic supervision, assessment of operational effectiveness, and engagement with officers and critical stakeholders across the Federation.
The DIGs are expected to continue activities relating to the operational tour with further engagements involving critical stakeholders within the Command tomorrow.
