FRSC ADAMAWA COMMAND COMMEMORATION OF 8TH UNITED MATION WORLD BICYCLE DAY OF 2026 IN YOLA.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adamawa Sector Command, in collaboration with the Adamawa State Bicycle Club, commemorated the 8th United Nations World Bicycle Day on Wednesday, 3rd June, 2026, with a series of activities aimed at promoting cycling as a sustainable, healthy, and environmentally friendly mode of transportation.

The event commenced with a cycling rally led by the Sector Commander, CC Ibrahim A. Sadiq, alongside members of the Adamawa State Bicycle Club and FRSC personnel. The rally traversed major roads within the Jimeta/Yola metropolis, attracting public attention and creating awareness on the benefits of cycling for personal health, environmental sustainability, and urban mobility.
Following the rally, participants embarked on an advocacy visit to Alfarma Motor Park, where the Sector Commander and his team engaged transport operators, drivers, cyclists, and members of the public on the significance of World Bicycle Day. Emphasis was placed on the 2026 theme, "Boosting Urban Life with the Bicycle," highlighting the role of bicycles in reducing traffic congestion, lowering carbon emissions, improving public health, and enhancing accessibility within urban communities.
During the advocacy session, road safety messages were delivered to encourage mutual respect among all road users, including motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. The importance of adhering to traffic regulations, wearing protective gear while cycling, and maintaining safe road-sharing practices was also stressed.
The Sector Commander commended the Adamawa State Bicycle Club for its partnership and commitment towards promoting safe cycling culture in the state. He reaffirmed the Corps' dedication to supporting initiatives that contribute to safer roads and sustainable transportation systems.
The event was peaceful and successful, with active participation from cyclists, FRSC personnel, transport stakeholders, and members of the public.
