ADAMAWA POLICE TAKE POCACOV SENSITISATION CAMPAIGN TO GOVERNMENT SECONDARY SCHOOL, DOUBELI

In furtherance of the preventive policing agenda of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, PSC(+), NPM, the Adamawa State Police Command, through the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), continued its school sensitisation programme with an awareness campaign at Government Secondary School, Doubeli.



Police Public Relation Officer Adamawa State Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.




The sensitisation programme was facilitated by the POCACOV State Coordinator, ASP Muhammed Lamido, alongside the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Doubeli Division, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Usman Abdullahi Isah, and other officers of the Adamawa State Police Command.



The team delivered an interactive lecture aimed at educating students on the dangers of drug abuse, cultism, Shilla gangsterism, cybercrime, examination malpractice, bullying, and other social vices. The students were encouraged to embrace discipline, respect for the rule of law, responsible use of social media, and peaceful coexistence, while remaining committed to their academic pursuits.



The officers also enlightened the students on personal security, conflict resolution, online safety, and the legal consequences of engaging in criminal activities. They urged the students to become ambassadors of peace in their homes, schools, and communities by rejecting all forms of violence and criminality.



The sensitisation session was highly interactive, with students asking questions and sharing their experiences on challenges confronting young people. The officers provided practical guidance and encouraged them to make positive life choices.



The management of Government Secondary School, Doubeli, expressed appreciation to the Adamawa State Police Command for bringing the programme to the school. They described the initiative as timely and impactful and pledged continued collaboration with the Police in promoting discipline, security awareness, and moral values among students.



The Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, fdc, reaffirmed the Command's commitment to preventive policing through sustained engagement with schools, parents, and communities. He noted that investing in the education and orientation of young people remains one of the most effective strategies for preventing crime and building a safer and more peaceful society.

The Adamawa State Police Command regrets to confirm a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on 3rd June, 2026, at about 1:50 p.m. along the Narehi area of Girei-Song Local Government Areas. Police Public Relation OfficerAdamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje  discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. The unfortunate incident involved a military Gun truck travelling from Gombi towards Yola and a commercial Hummer bus conveying five (5) passengers from Yola to Mubi. Preliminary findings reveals that both vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, resulting in the commercial bus flipped over and burst into flames. ASUU MODIBBO ADAMA UNIVERSITY BRANCH COMMENCED TWO WEEK WARNING STRIKE.

NSCDC Adamawa State Command Deploys 2,521 Personnel for Easter Festivitie

The State Commandant, Comdt Idris Bande, issued the directive for the massive deployment to provide adequate safety and security for lives and property, as well as to protect all critical national assets and infrastructure within Adamawa State during the Easter period.
