Adamawa Principals Urged to Hold Graduation Ceremonies, Reward Outstanding Students

The Acting Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB), Mr. Birsan Penuel, has urged all secondary school principals in the state to institutionalize annual graduation ceremonies and recognize outstanding students with awards to encourage academic excellence.


Mr. Penuel made the call while speaking at the 55th graduation ceremony of Government Secondary School, Hong, in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.


He described graduation ceremonies as an important tradition that enhances the image of schools, strengthens collaboration between parents and teachers, and promotes the overall development of education.


According to him, principals should make the annual organization of graduation ceremonies and the recognition of exceptional students a priority, while fostering closer partnerships with parents to support students' academic and moral development.


The Acting Executive Secretary also advised students to remain focused on their studies, respect school authorities, and maintain discipline, stressing that dedication to learning is essential for future success.


He warned graduating students against engaging in activities capable of disrupting public peace, particularly the practice popularly known as "signing out." He emphasized that the Adamawa State Government would not tolerate acts of disorder and that anyone found violating the law would face appropriate sanctions.


Mr. Penuel further urged parents to closely monitor and guide their children, encouraging them to discourage any conduct that could threaten public peace. He noted that the state government has prohibited activities capable of causing unrest in communities.


He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his commitment to improving security across Adamawa State, including in schools, noting that the peaceful environment created by the administration has continued to support educational growth and development.

The Adamawa State Police Command regrets to confirm a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on 3rd June, 2026, at about 1:50 p.m. along the Narehi area of Girei-Song Local Government Areas. Police Public Relation OfficerAdamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje  discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola. The unfortunate incident involved a military Gun truck travelling from Gombi towards Yola and a commercial Hummer bus conveying five (5) passengers from Yola to Mubi. Preliminary findings reveals that both vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, resulting in the commercial bus flipped over and burst into flames. ASUU MODIBBO ADAMA UNIVERSITY BRANCH COMMENCED TWO WEEK WARNING STRIKE.

NSCDC Adamawa State Command Deploys 2,521 Personnel for Easter Festivitie

The State Commandant, Comdt Idris Bande, issued the directive for the massive deployment to provide adequate safety and security for lives and property, as well as to protect all critical national assets and infrastructure within Adamawa State during the Easter period.
