ASUU call on the FG to address their outstanding agreement of 2016.
The Academic staff union of university (ASUU) has commended the efforts of the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for removing the Nigerian universities and other tertiary institution from the integrated personal payroll and information system (IPPIS) aimed at stabilizing the tertiary educational systems in the country.
The chairman of the Academic staff union of university, Modibbo Adama university Yola, Dr El-Maude Jibrin made this known during an exclusive interview with News Men in Yola.
According to him, the recent removal of the Nigerian universities and other tertiary institution from the IPPIS is one of the positive step taken forward by the present administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu aimed at reviving the university system in Nigeria.
He said, the past administration of the former president Muhammadu Buhari has made everything difficult for the university to run effectively and accordingly due to forceful integration of the university and other tertiary institution into IPPIS.
Dr El-Maude Jibrin commended the effort of the Minister of education Prof Tahir Mamman for ensuring the removal of the universities and other tertiary institution from the IPPIS.
He further implore the Minister to kindly looks into the other outstanding agreement of 2016, comprises of the university revitalisation, Earn academic allowances and infrastructures among others.
The government have been urged to kindly improve the working conditions of the Nigerian universities for the overall interest of the nation.
