Nigeria Police officer donates food items, cash to flood victims in Maiduguri

ASP. Idris Wadata, Secretary to the Commissioner of Police Adamawa state command has donated food items and cash to Borno Government for onwards distribution to victims of flood disaster in Maiduguri.


It could be recalled that few weeks ago, Alau Dam busted and resulted to lost of lives both humans and animals, infrastructures and its displaced  thousands of people.


The items donated include: 10 cartons of noodles, seven bags of rice and N50, 000 cash


Presenting the donation, ASP Wadata said, the purpose of his visit is to sympathize with government, the victims  and donate food items especially for the vulnerable victims.


“I hereby handed over this to augment the effort of the state government and other donors and I pray for God Almighty to prevent future occurrence”, he said.


Mr Engr.Abba Garba, Chairman Borno Flood Committee who received the donation on behalf of the state government appreciated the effort ASP Wadata, Adamawa  police Command  and state government for their continued support.


 Garba, represented by Prof. Umara Ibrahim said, the crop of young officers of the Nigeria Police are really making him proud, as they received similar gesture from cadets of Nigeria police Academy Wudil, kano. 


“And now a single young officer is doing it again, May Almighty Allah bless your efforts and we assured for judicious distribution of the items to the targeted beneficiaries”, he said.
