Hon. Jibril Ibrahim Jimeta Flags Off Distribution of Relief Materials in Yola North

Yola North Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. (Barr.) Jibril Ibrahim Jimeta, officially launched the distribution of relief materials today in a ceremony aimed at alleviating economic hardships faced by residents. The initiative follows the directive of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to provide essential food items to citizens across the state.


The distribution will cover all eleven wards of Yola North Local Government under the close supervision of their respective councilors to ensure equitable allocation.


Dignitaries present at the event included the Council Vice Chairperson, the Council Secretary, Hon. Maulud Ishaq, Chief of Staff Mohammed Modibbo, District Heads, Councilors, Supervisory Councilors, and representatives from the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA) and Local Emergency Management Agency (LEMA), among others.


Speaking during the event, Hon. Jibril Ibrahim reaffirmed the government's commitment to addressing the challenges posed by the current economic situation and emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in ensuring the well-being of all residents.


The distribution exercise is expected to continue in the coming days, with assurances that every eligible citizen will benefit from the relief materials.

Born on January 1, 1941 (21 Zul Hajj 1358), Bobboi Muhammad Ahmad lived a life marked by dedication to his faith and family. He is survived by a large and loving family, including 13 sons, 6 daughters, and 77 grandchildren. Known for his strong family ties and leadership within his community, his legacy is further carried on by his only surviving sister. In reflecting on his life, the family recalled his fondness for caring for pigeons, with 7 still in his care at the time of his passing. "Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un," his family stated in a message, expressing their full submission to the will of Allah. His passing marks a significant loss, and his memory will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. This appointment marks a significant step forward in the Commission’s mission to promote and safeguard human rights within the region. Alongside this, Hassan Alh. Ahmadu Maiha has been named the State Deputy Coordinator for Adamawa State. Both appointments are expected to enhance the Commission’s ability to reach grassroots communities and respond swiftly to human rights violations throughout the state.
