Adamawa state NSCDC COMMAND SEIZURE OF ILLEGALLY MINED FLUORITE IN SONG LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, ADAMAW STATE.
In line with the directive of the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, to clamp down on all forms of illegal mining across the country, the Adamawa State Command under the leadership of Commandant Idris Dahiru Bande, has once again recorded a major success in enforcing this national policy.
Public Relation Officer Adamawa state Command DSC Amidu Nyako Baba Stated this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola Adamawa state Capital.
Acting on credible intelligence and the unwavering commitment of our operatives, a substantial quantity approximately 30 tons of fluorite, a highly valuable mineral resource, was seized in Dumne, a Development area under Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State. This seizure marks the second time within a short span that our command has intercepted illegally sourced mineral resources in the area.
Let me be unequivocal: illegal mining remains banned in Adamawa State, and those who choose to engage in this criminal activity are doing so in violation of the law and will be made to face the full weight of justice. This command is fully aligned with the Commandant General's directive to rid our communities of economic saboteurs who exploit our resources without due process, thereby endangering both our environment and national economy.
We are sending a clear and stern warning to all individuals and groups involved in such illegal operations: desist immediately. The NSCDC will not relent in its mission to protect the integrity of Nigeria’s mineral resources and to ensure that mining activities are conducted within the ambit of the law.
I wish to commend the gallant efforts of our operatives and also urge the public to continue partnering with the NSCDC by providing timely and actionable information that will aid our operations.
Together, we can build a safer, more prosperous, and law-abiding society.
SIGNED
DSC NYAKO AMIDU BABA
CDPRO NSCDC ADAMAWA COMMAND.
