CONASAI VOW TO TACKLE ISSUE OF DRUGS ABUSE AMONG THE COMMUNITIES.

Worried by the growing cases of drug abuse among young people, residents of Yola have joined hands to raise awareness and seek solutions.

A public sensitization campaign was recently held in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, bringing together religious leaders, parents, and community members to confront the issue.

The gathering, which took place at the Central Juma’at Mosque, was coordinated by the Community Network Against Substance Abuse Initiative  and focused on educating the public about the dangers of drug use, especially among the youth.

Hajiya Khadija Buba, who led the campaign, said the effort was driven by concern over the increasing number of young people falling into addiction.

She stressed the need for families and local stakeholders to act quickly to prevent further damage in the society.

Also present at the event was Mallam Muhammed Zingina, a respected community leader from the NEPA area of Yola.

He appreciated the effort, saying such grassroots action is essential to building a safer and healthier society.

The campaign drew support from traditional rulers, youth groups, religious leaders, and civil society organizations  all showing commitment to protecting the next generation from the grip of drugs.
