Eid has been described as a blessed annual reoccurrence that repeats itself twice a year, which is an opportunity for Muslims to show love and compassion for one another.
Chief Imam Ganye Street Juma'at Mosque Jimeta, Sheikh Hassan Sa'ad Abokin Mallam, gave the description shortly after Friday sermon in Yola.
Sheikh Hassan Sa'ad said the day serves as a double blessing for the fact that Muslims worldwide, observe the Eid Al-adha on Friday which according to him, is a devine coincidence.
The Imam noted that though it is non obligatory for those who attended the Eid prayers in the morning to attend Juma'at prayers in the afternoon, yet, it is recommended by Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him, as he used to observe both during His lifetime.
The cleric used the opportunity to call on Muslims to use the opportunity to intensify prayers, Takbirat and glorification as enshrined in the Sunnah of these days, which starts from this Friday up to three days.
Mallam Hassan Saad also mentioned the importance of slaughtering of rams and other animals of the recommended category, especially for those with the meanse, calling on them to extend the gesture of sharing the meats to those who cannot afford with the hope of attracting more rewards from Allah
