Ministry for mineral resources vows to boost revenue generation in Adamawa state.

The Commissioner, for mineral resources, Honourable Haruna Ibrahim, his staff and TRV consultant on revenue, have carried out Sensitization Tour to some communities and loading points in Yola- South local government area. Namely; Mararraban cigari, Yolde paate, Rumde Kila, Malkohi and Lakare Bole communities.
The Commissioner, explained that, the mineral resources; Sharp Sand, platter and Laterate, extracted by the Tipper drivers is a source of revenue generation to the state government. Therefore, Tipper drivers ought to pay toll charges through revenue agencies to be remitted to state government for developmental project
He warned that any Tipper driver that refused to comply with the rule will dance to the rune of the law.
The Commissioner, warned that, Tipper drivers must follow due process of extraction of the mineral resources as guided by Adamawa State mineral gazette, to avoid environmental hazard.
The Commissioner, re-emphasised that it is a collective responsibility of all stakeholders in the state to be vigilant on how extraction of mineral resources is being carried out in their domains as custodians of the resources to avoid environmental hazard.
Responding, on behalf of NURTW Tipper branch, Malam Abbas A. Daura, commended the Commissioner, and his team for the awareness and pledges to adhere to the laws guiding their jobs.
Lastly, ward heads of the afforementioned communities expressed their delights for the visit and promised to be vigilant on how mineral resources are extracted in their domains.
