Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital Yola Conducts Inspection Tour of Shagari Primary Health Care Center
Yola, Adamawa State - In a bid to enhance healthcare delivery to the grassroots in Yola South LGA, Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital Yola conducted an inspection tour of Shagari Primary Health Care Center. The team, led by Dr. Dahiru Ribadu, Chairman of the Hospital's Advisory Medical Committee, and two other officials, visited the clinic's labor, laboratory, and pharmacy departments
During their interaction with the Ward Development Committee (WDC) members and staff of the Shagari Primary Health Care facility, Dr. Ribadu expressed delight with the available facilities, noting that the team would report back its findings for necessary action to improve healthcare services in the area. He urged the community, staff, and relevant authorities to collaborate in ensuring successful healthcare delivery.
Dr. Umaru Ijapa, Head of the Department of Gynecology, emphasized that the anticipated partnership between the Teaching Hospital and the clinic would significantly reduce maternal and mortality rates in the society. He encouraged all parties to take the initiative seriously, considering its positive impact on healthcare delivery in the community
Dr. Adamu Ijapa, Head of the Department of Public Health, lauded the Clinic's WDC members for initiating the collaborative effort, describing it as outstanding and worthy of emulation by all stakeholders in healthcare delivery services.
In a welcome address, Shehu Usman Aliyu, Chairman of the Clinic's WDC, appreciated the Chief Medical Director of the Teaching Hospital, Professor Adamu Bakari Girei, and the visiting team for responding positively to the Bole Yolde Pate community's request to improve healthcare services through the clinic.
In their closing remarks, Mrs. Bilkisu Abdullah, Facility Manager, and Alhaji Bashiru Aliyu, representative of the Ward Heads of Bole Yolde Pate, thanked the Teaching Hospital management for their kind gesture and promised to provide maximum support and cooperation to ensure successful healthcare delivery in the area.
