The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamawa State Command, has apprehended five (5) suspected vandals in connection with the unlawful possession and transportation of 204 units of 8"by 10F long iron pipes belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
Public Relation Officer of Adamawa state Command DSC Amidu Nyako Baba discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.
The suspects were intercepted on 30th September 2025, along the Jalingo–Numan road, while en route to Yobe State. Preliminary investigations reveal that the iron pipes were dug out and loaded from a bush around Mararaba Abbare, Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State. In an attempt to evade detection, the suspects concealed the pipes with chaff, deceitfully presenting them as farm produce.
Commandant, NSCDC Adamawa State Command, ID Bande, while addressing newsmen during the parade, reaffirmed the Corps’ unwavering commitment to the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure (CNAI) across the state. He emphasized that this arrest is a clear demonstration of the Corps’ proactive strategy in combating acts of vandalism, economic sabotage, and other criminal activities threatening national assets.
Through this decisive action, we are sending an unequivocal and resolute warning that such criminal behaviour will no longer be tolerated. The NSCDC will continue to ensure that perpetrators of these unlawful acts are apprehended and brought to justice, the Commandant stated.
He further assured members of the public that the Corps remains steadfastly dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of vital installations and infrastructure, particularly those contributing to national development and security.
Command calls on the public to continue to support the NSCDC by providing reliable and timely information that will assist in deterring criminal elements and ensuring a safer society for all.
