Auto-crash claims one life, injures 18 in Adamawa.

 An auto crashed involving a Toyota Hummer bus has resulted in one fatality and left eighteen individuals with varying degrees of injury.


The incident was confirmed by the Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Numan, ACC Idi Timothy, in an interview with Newsmen in Yola.


The vehicle, a Toyota Hummer bus with registration number BLD 471 XL, was carrying 19 persons—comprising the driver, 14 men, and 5 women.


 It was involved in the accident while en route from Yola to Kano.


One passenger, confirmed to be a citizen of the Republic of Cameroon, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. 


The eighteen other victims are currently receiving medical treatment at the General Hospital in Numan.


Preliminary investigation by the FRSC indicates that overspeeding was the primary cause of the accident. 


 Idi Timothy used the opportunity to advise all motorists to adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations to prevent such tragedies that lead to loss of lives and injuries.


The FRSC commander confirmed that the sum of ₦40,000 and 300,000 CFA francs belonging to the deceased was recovered at the scene.


 The  items have been handed over to his relatives. 


The body of the deceased has also been released to the family for burial rites.


While receiving the recovered money, a relative of the deceased, AbdulRazak Bilyaminu (identified as his younger brother), confirmed the loss of his brother in the accident.
