On the 27th March, 2026, the newly posted Commissioner of police CP Kabir Umar Hassan, fdc, has assumed duty as the 33rd Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command. He assumed the leadership of the Command with vast experience in operations, investigations, administration, and training, acquired over decades of distinguished service in the Nigeria Police Force.
Police Public Relation Officer Adamawa State Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje discloused this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.
The new Commissioner of Police was born on 15th August, 1967, and hails from Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) Degree in History from the University of Maiduguri (1992). He was appointed into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in 1996.
CP Kabir Umar Hassan has attended several professional courses, including the Defence College (2023), Advanced Detective Course, Junior Command Course, Intermediate Command Course, and Tactical Leadership Course at the Police Staff College, Jos.
He brings to the Command a wealth of professional experience, having served in various strategic and operational capacities across the country. Some of his notable past postings include:
Personal Assistant (PA) to the Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command (1998), Officer in Charge, Pipeline Security, Gombe State (2003), Directing Staff, Police College, Kaduna (2007),Liaison Officer, Police Service Commission (2012),Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Soba and Kurmin Mashi Divisions, Kaduna State Command, Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Bauchi State,Deputy Commissioner of Police SCID Jigawa and Niger State Command, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, Sokoto State Command
Until his recent posting, he was the Commissioner of Police (Administration), Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos.
CP Kabir Umar Hassan is known for his professionalism, discipline, and commitment to duty. His vast experience in administration, investigation, and field operations positions him to effectively lead the Adamawa State Command in addressing security challenges and strengthening public trust in the State.
He is happily married and blessed with children. His hobbies include, travelling, sporting and reading.
