In commemoration of the forthcoming 2026 National Police Day, and in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, 𝐈𝐆𝐏 𝐎𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐢 𝐑𝐢𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐮, 𝐩𝐬𝐜 (+), 𝐍𝐏𝐌, the Adamawa State Police Command has outlined a series of activities to mark this remarkable occasion. The activities, which align with the theme of the celebration, 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏: "𝐵𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑇𝑟𝑢𝑠𝑡,” aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Police and the people of the State.
Police Public Relation Officer Adamawa state Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje stated this in a statement made available to Newsmen in Yola.
The daily activities will kick start on Monday, 30th March 2026, with environmental sanitation and cleaning within the metropolis, focusing on the theme of the celebration. On the same day, the Command’s Medical Services will conduct a free medical outreach for members of the public within a strategic location in Jimeta.
The Commissioner of Police, 𝗖𝗣 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗿 𝗨𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻, 𝗳𝗱𝗰, will lead officers and men of the Command on a walkathon within the metropolis to strengthen police/community relations.
On Wednesday, 1st April 2026, the Command will embark on public sensitization campaigns on electoral violence, ballot snatching, and other related offences focusing on youth and other stakeholders.
Furthermore, on Thursday, 2nd April 2026, the Commissioner of Police will present cheques to families of deceased Police personnel in the Command.
The Commissioner of Police describes the National Police Day celebration as a historic and unique opportunity to deepen trust and strengthen partnerships with the people of Adamawa State. He called on residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with the Police throughout the celebration and beyond, while reaffirming the Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property and upholding the rights and dignity of all citizens.
