The Muslim Youth Association in Nigeria (MUYAN), Adamawa State Chapter, visited the Specialist Hospital in Yola to support patients with food items as part of an effort to earn rewards and salvation on the Day of Judgment.
The coordinator in charge of distributing the items, Abdullahi Njidda Damare, disclosed this while speaking to journalists shortly after the items were distributed to patients.
Abdullahi Damare said the reason for visiting the hospital to assist patients was because the last ten days of the month of Ramadan had begun.
According to him, these days are very significant for the Muslim community because good deeds performed during this period carry multiplied rewards.
Damare added that the MUYAN plans to expand its activities to other places including prisons, mosques, and other locations.
He further explained that they intend to extend their efforts to prisons and mosques to ensure that more people receive proper meals for breaking their fast.
The MUYAN also organized an iftar (breaking of the fast) at a mosque located in the NEPA area in order to promote unity among the Muslim community.
According to the chairman of MUYAN in Adamawa State, Mallam Musa Bello Modibbo, the iftar gathering was organized to strengthen unity and peaceful coexistence among Muslims, noting that Muslims should be united like a bundle of broomsticks, as mentioned by Almighty Allah in the Holy Qur’an.
Some of the beneficiaries of the iftar and the patients visited at the hospital expressed their gratitude and happiness for the assistance provided to them.
The items distributed included food, soft drinks, and other materials.
